Reflective Narrative
The WLC 300: Major Pro Seminar is a class that fulfills the University Requirements for students in the World Languages and Cultures department. This course prepares both Japanese and Spanish students for the upper-division courses they will be taking, as well as helping start our e-portfolio. Students should ideally take this course at the start of their junior year. However, since I studied abroad my for my junior year, I took this class the start of my senior year instead. This resulted in me starting the class with an already completed Individual Learning Plan and having a capstone topic. With the bulk of my projects completed, or already in progress, I was a little ahead of the game. However, I found that getting help writing my statement of purpose was an invaluable part of the class. At the time I was also applying to the JET program, and I was able to use what I learned in my application. Additionally, I was also able to use this time to work on my capstone project and e-portfolio.
